North York Moors Ramble

The North York Moors Ramble, and it can feel like a ramble sometimes, this is a pretty challenging route with lots of steep terrain and trails that are not really trails. Well, they are sheep trails. But oh is this a beautiful place to be. And for all them trails that you will be pushing, this route has some incredible views and some beautiful trails that just makes you say WOW.

But it is a challenging route considering it is only 200 miles long, and is very remote in places and extremely exposed, so the weather could easily make or break a ride here. In that 200 miles you will also cover quite a bit of elevation gain over 20,000ft, so you will be wanting that nice easy MTB gearing. Being that this route is pretty much all off-road it does mean that it doesnโ€™t go through too many places so you will need to make sure you can carry a good couple of days worth of supplies. I actually got a little caught out and came off the route to resupply, so its not the end of the world, there are also not so many rivers or streams to collect water so its a good idea to carry a little extra. There are sections along this route that because you are following very small sheep trails, it can be hard to actually know where the trail actually is. But because it does feel like such a challenging route, it also feels really rewarding after completing it and definitely worth a go if you have a good amount of experience and are not afraid of a bit of hike a bike. Like a challenge then why not go explore this beautiful part of the country.
