The Southern Discomfort (SD300)

The SD300 AKA The Southern Discomfort created by Jim Barrow is a new way to cycle the south downs, and you can guess by the name it is a challenge, but in a good way that is for sure. If you have cycled the South Downs Way before then you will be familiar with how steep and tiresome them trails can be and this is similar, but it just feels a lot more interesting and fun. Exploring the lesser used trials surrounding the south downs way. You do use the downs way at times for a little bit, but you will be exploring the wooded trails, fun single track that you probably didnโ€™t even know was there.

I think most people who take this one will find it quite challenging, but it is worth it, I actually think itโ€™s more enjoyable than the south downs way. With the variety of trails, it just makes it a little more interesting. But with that being said, in the 300km (190 miles) there is also a good 22,000ft of elevation gain (6700m) so be ready to get them legs spinning.
